The decision to feature two photos of myself on the book cover was a deeply personal one. As I reflected on my life’s journey, I felt it was essential to visually capture the profound transformation I’ve undergone.
The image of me as a child represents the pure and innocent dreams I once had, untainted by the challenges I would later face. Contrastingly, the photograph of me as a military man stands as a testament to the trials I’ve endured and the strength I’ve gained through my experiences.
By placing these two images side by side, I aim to convey the narrative of growth, resilience, and the passage of time. This cover is not just a representation of my story; it’s a visual prelude to the themes of transformation and perseverance that readers will find within the pages of my book.
"When Helen and I started talking and seen each other regularly, I couldn't have looked like the safest bet, and yet her influence on me was steady and enduring"
